Rostro de Ceniza

On the wall of a torn-rimmed vessel a face of ash emerges: skin near-black, one eye lit red, streams of white running down like tears of glaze. The face does not look — it burns from within; it is the face that appears when the light withdraws and lets speak what we almost always keep silent.
